Dan McPharlin on his Miniatures

Last year I blogged Dan McPharlin and his fantastic miniature cardboard models of fictional analogue synths.

I only just spotted it, but back in January Wire To The Ear posted a short interview with the man himself.

Forgotten Chairs

I went to the opening of the Forgotten Chairs exhibition at Dundee University tonight (as mentioned last week).

Some great work, and lovely documentation on the website which just went live today. (I have a couple more photos but my camera’s on its last legs…)

[ update: more flickr pics ]

Nice to catch up with folk too and hear about some exciting new developments, including their new Masters in Design Ethnography that’s launching in 2008.

Electronic Devices as Design Exploration

The latest issue of the Keho e-zine features a short paper I wrote about the social sensors project I did earlier this year.

Archaeopterix V, Panamarenko 1991.

Panamarenko’s work featuring personal flying machines is what got me interested in the function vs fiction thing in the first place.
