Some good stuff happening this month… particularly Futuresonic, featuring a host of interesting events and people, including Toshio Iwai. (Speaking of whom… Electroplankton is officially launched in Europe today – erm, yesterday. Almost makes me want to get a DS out of curiosity. Fortunately perhaps, I’m skint. Pixelsumo also has interesting detail on the apparently-real-hardware-controller Tenori-On.)

Would love to be at Futuresonic but have a prior engagement… I’m coming out of semi-retirement to join my wonderful buddies from Orkestra Del Sol on a 12-day tour of the UK and Austria (Gig dates).

Lots of excitement about the new collaboration with Brighton’s Carnival Collective, titled the Balkan Bateria Soundclash. This grew out of an experimental collaboration between ODS and CC at Glastonbury last year, on the Continental Drifts Stage in Lost Vagueness. This was a particularly memorable glasto-moment, especially with the sun coming up behind thousands of people as the show reached its climax.

There was also a slightly, erm, less focussed, session in the Stone Circle afterwards, also featuring our friends from the Baghdaddies. (Dodgy camera-phone evidence on Flickr.) I think I left that field about 3 in the afternoon to finally go for a kip… Nice Festival Moment.

Looking forward to seeing lots of folk out and about at the gigs… if you’ll be there please say hi (the Norwich and Battersea Park gigs are free btw).

And all of this is before the Edinburgh Fringe Festival even starts. Phew!
